Internet-based Business Opportunities – True Freedom!

Internet-based business opportunities were once the realm of computer gurus and those who were “tied in” to the World Wide Web with state-of-the-art networking and had connections with major companies. When the Internet first got started, companies used it to speed things up and keep communications open, but there was still a corporate mindset that took a while to break through.

But now anyone can earn money on the Net from anywhere – gone are the days of Internet-based marketing being housed in banks of cubicles and business ventures being run from store-front offices. In fact, there is no average portrait of an Internet-based business owner anymore, and web ventures are so diverse there’s no way to categorize them.

What exactly is an Internet based opportunity?

  • Case One: Becky owns a Llama farm in the hills of western Pennsylvania. She’s always loved living in the country and she adores her llamas. She cards their wool and hand-spins it into luxurious, soft yarn. She’d always hoped to do it as a hobby when she retired, and only kept one or two llamas when she worked days in a bank until she gave a hand-knit sweater to a friend, who explained that Becky could easily sell her hand-spun wool and finished hand-knit clothing on the Internet. Becky’s friend helped her design a website, and within two years, Becky had quit her day job, moved to a farm with a herd of llamas and now owns “Llama Land Boutique,” offering one of a kind sweaters, scarves and hats.
  • Case Two: Richard knows absolutely everything there is about fitness. He’s a retired marine drill sergeant and fitness fanatic. He started an Internet website with tips on weight training and marathon training after running a few marathons himself. At first it was small, but he added a newsletter and soon got a fairly extensive mailing list by word-of-mouth. Now he has several affiliate advertisers on his site that he has selected because he really believes in their products. This includes nutritional supplements, weight training equipment, and exercise gear such as pedometers and cross-training shoes. His business makes an impressive monthly income off of pay-for-performance sales from his advertisers.
  • Case Three: Kev started a gaming chat room for fans of the new game “Dark Cloud.” He saw it as an opportunity to interact with other fans. Pretty soon, chat turned to Net discussions of which games were best and why. Kev saw an opportunity and jumped on it. He began adding affiliate links for various gaming sites and Internet-based stores that sold video games. His chat room turned into a business venture over night. Today he lives in a cabin in the mountains of Peru (his dream – hey, everyone’s dream is different), where he works on designing his own video game, completely supported by his affiliate income.

What do all of these business people have in common? They understood that a business doesn’t have to be traditional. Opportunities are what you make of them, and sometimes they are in unexpected places. Home-based business opportunities today are endless. The Internet spans the globe and reaches nearly every corner of the world, so if you have something you can share – product, service or information – there is a way you can turn it into an Internet-based success story. All these ventures need to succeed are a bit of thought and courage – yours! And soon you will be running a successful business from anywhere in the world you want to be! (Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be Peru – unless you want it to be.)
