In fact, online Christmas shopping for 2006 hit an all time high with shoppers spending an estimated $21.7 billion online during November and December, up 26% from the same period a year earlier, according to a report from the National Retail Federation.

The Retail Sales Outlook report also predicts that online growth will continue at double-digit percentages during 2007, all of which only confirms this: online shopping is bigger than ever and it’s here to stay!

A Proven Formula For Success

Obviously, you will have to invest some time and money to learn the entire formula, -- but, for those who are 'just curious' here are the basic concepts:

• First, I research the Internet to determine which industries offer lucrative affiliate programs, then I search for keyword phrases -- related to my chosen industry -- search terms which were most frequently used in the previous 60-days at the search engines. These are the exact words that people type into search engines when surfing. Knowing these words and phrases -- and their relative popularity -- is essential to Internet success. The VAST majority of Internet publishers do not know how to effectively use this information or even where to find it.

• Then, I structure the content of my site BASED on these keywords -- As I organize the content of my site, I strategically place these important keywords within the body of my pages. I do this, so that when the search engines send out their 'spiders' -- programs that regularly scour the Internet for URL's that contain "matching" content, which they bring back to store in their databases, -- my pages get a high score for relevancy. Learning how-to optimize your sites' content for relevancy is a must. My methods for doing this properly -- are worth many times the price of this manual!

• Then, I submit to the search engines -- Once the site is complete, I submit its URL to all of the search engines according to the protocols each require. This needs to be done right. It's another thing missed by most webmasters and contributes to their low traffic.

• Then, I choose which revenue generating links to place on my site -- while I wait for my sites to be indexed. NOTE: The primary goal of my sites are to attract relevant traffic, which hopefully converts to a sale when a visitor clicks-thru to an offer. They then leave my site with my commission tracking codes embedded in their browser. From that point forward the merchant handles the transaction (if any) on my behalf and I get paid, usually a month or so later. It's a wonderful business relationship. The merchant handles all the customer fulfillment and I handle the referral.

• And then, I begin organizing my inbound links for maximum PageRank at Google (and Yahoo and MSN) -- Search engine rankings are governed by algorithms that assign points for relevancy and importance. Recent changes in algorithms at Google, Yahoo, MSN and others assign mega points for inbound link-popularity, -- which seeks to establish how many other relevant sites have a 'backwards link' to yours and which pages of your site are the MOST important.

What a fun trip!

This was Affiliate Summit's first event and there were 240 merchants and affiliates onboard and one could have been you!

If you listened to Bronwyn Bamber's audio above, you already know that it was on this cruise that Bronwyn and I first met.

Then, in Jan. 2005, I was asked to speak at Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas, which was another exciting trip and opportunity.

Looking back, I realize now that I have attended or spoken at every Affiliate Summit since they began.

In fact, just last August, Affiliate Summit East (2006) was held in Disney World at the Hilton, a beautiful five star resort. Wouldn’t you love to take your family to Disney World or take your spouse to Florida for fun in the sun?
